THEY CAME WITH THEIR SOULS RIGHT THERE BY THEIR SIDES.
[/size][/blockquote]Imagine, people whose closest allies stand beside them, an extension of their soul.
The year is 2050. Forty years ago, a team of scientists accidentally discovered a portal into another universe; one parallel to our own, with only the slightest of differences. These differences, though, included one large aspect; your souls did not exist inside your body, but as a separate entity that stood beside you in the form of an animal. Many of these people accidentally wandered into our world, before the scientists were able to close the portal.
At first, they were both hated and revered. Some considered the very existence of their daemons blasphemy, and ordered their execution. Others felt bad from them, the people having been yanked from their homes and families. As years passed, however, a tolerance settled over the world.
Here in Slate City, USA, the tolerance level is good for the moment. The city is almost equal in amounts of those with and those without daemons. Even though peace seems to have taken hold of the city, it is fragile and could shatter at any moment. Violent crimes against either type of person still exist and are committed, however low in numbers they may be.
For now, there is peace. But for long will it last?
